This is Kee’s great masterpiece bolo buckle set, three years in the making. The degree of skill and the amount of labor to create it is the cumulative effort and crowning achievement of his career, unlikely to be surpassed. Hundreds of petroglyphs were individually hand sawed in a continuous seem throughout the top plate of sterling silver over many hours to mimic the great wall of petroglyphs found at Newspaper Rock in southwest Utah.

This fine concho belt was made in Taos, New Mexico in the early 1970s. A collective of artist jewelers revived the old Navajo art of making conchos out of old American coin silver, pre 1964. The conchos in this fine belt are 50 cent pieces. The buckle is an old silver dollar. The serrated edges of the coins are visible on the conchos. Although the artist was Anglo, these belts are highly collectible due to their age and unique provenance.
